CASTLETON'S MISSION
8/10/1997 to 23/12/2006

This page has been created to remember Castleton's Mission who gave the New Zealand Trotting Syndicate and later the On A Mission Syndicate members such a lot of fun and great memories.

Painting

Castleon's Mission was a bay gelding by Sundon from Castleton's Dream who was bred by Ron Burrell from
Impact Bloodstock

He was foaled on 8 October 1997. Castleton's Mission was from an outstanding family. Previous stars included Sir Castleton and Castleton's Pride
- both Interdominion Grand Final winners.

Purchased at the yearling sales by Mike Gourdie on the recommendation of trainer Michael House he showed
real ability from the start of his training but like many other Sundons he had some issues with controlling that
ability.

Mission may have had 25 official owners when he started out but to each of us owners - we were the sole owner with 24 other "hangers on". To our family, friends and workmates the horse was always connected with us individually. He had a lot of support also from the Race Cafe "family" so we all took the good, the bad and the ugly together. Thanks for the memories Mission.
